Quito
Journey to Quito from Pasto was the longest journey by far!! Took us over 10 hours via buses, collectivos & taxis to cross the border. We had to carry our heavy backpacks to reach the border which was long & tiring!! Finally reached Quito around 8pm and saw the amazing views of the old town in colourful lights.
For dinner we had falafels which we enjoyed & stuffed ourselves senseless! lol
Exploring Quito was amazing and lots of fun! We climbed 314 hell raising stairs, which were more like ladders to the top of the La Basilica cathedral to see the view of the city through the gothic towers. Divya learnt something new about herself, she never thought she would be afraid of heights which she was!! However she still managed to climb the terrifying ladders. Rohini was a pro at climbing she wasnt fazed by anything!
Had an eventful day filled with a dog scaring Divya which came out of nowhere, a literally crazy woman nearly attacking Divya which reminded Divya of the drag me to hell movie :/ lol, thankfully Rohini & Anoushka came to the rescue & she freaked all of us out and we nearly ran for our lives, dont know why!! We climbed a steep hill where we were breathless due to the alititude not our fitness to reach parque ichimbia! lol This is where we saw more wonderful views of the city. Encountered a clown on the tram scaring Rohini which in returned scared Divya when she turned around & saw the clown in her face! lol
Our eventful day was rewarded with a breathtaking 4,100 metres view of the entire city , mountains and volcanoes through Telerofiqo (cable car) & a trek up the mountains :D
