Cali - Popayan - Pasto - Ipiales

Journey to Cali took us 18 hours & we almost lost our bags because of a gay check in dude at heathrow. He told us our bags would go straight to Cali which wasnt true, because we had to collect our HEAVY bags in Bagota & check in again!

Arriving in Cali we had a funny journey to our hostel. The taxi driver wasnt educated on handbrakes or driving on the road! This actually covers all the male drivers here! lol

Once we got to the hostel Rohini was shocked to find Divya & Anoushka zonked out with their jeans and trainers still on!

Popayan & Pasto are chilled out Columbian towns, everybody made a big effort to communicate with us. We are all learning spanish as we go along which we are loving. We are getting our first experience of alititude and the rainforest.

So far we have only had 2 meals as we have found it hard to find veggie food! No one seems to be veggie down here! lol However we have tried typical Columbian food which we enjoyed & would have again!

We visited the Laguna De La Cocha, which is a lake 2,900 metres above sea level. This a island away from the main land where we had to take a motorised boat which was fun & very wet! It was absolutely freezing and we tried agua paneila (sweet water) which warmed us right up!! Arriving at the island which is a rainforest we treked all the way through, anoushka fell 4 times! lol Nothing new there! She even scared Divya when she was climbing over a fallin tree saying there was a snake next to her which worked a treat! lol Divya´s come back was watch when we get to the amazon jungle....lol
