Last full day of our adventure in Memphis. We are being picked up this morning for a tour of the city including Sun Studios and finishing with a trip to Gracelands.
It was a great tour we visited Sun Studios where Elvis,Jerry Lee Lewis,Johnny Cash and Karl Perkins and many others recorded records.Saw some beautiful houses. Visited the Peabody Hotel where ducks live on the roof and everyday at 11am they come down in the elevator and walk along the red carpet to a fountain in the middle of the hotel where they stay until 5pm when the duck master takes them back up to the roof. We saw two great statues one of Elvis the other BBKing. Had lunch at BB Kings again and this time they had a great blues band playing. We shared a table with two Canadians who were on the tour also. Nick and I had catfish this time (working our way through the Carpenters song!) boarded the coach after lunch on our way to Graceland. Driver stopped on way so we could see some stars in the pavement with famous names iincluding Bob Dylan!
Arrived at Graceland it was very very busy and we had to que for over an hour to get into the house. It was worth it amazing and very emotional again. I never realised how many gold and platinum discs he had won and trophys it was unbelievable.
We also saw some of his cars and two planes. Although it is very commercialised we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to see The King!
