Well our week spent in Rotterdam has come to an end.

We had a wonderful time with the family.

Andre, Leon & Peter arranged for the Kinderdijk to be lit up and for fireworks :) Ronald & Corry took us on a helicopter ride over the Harbour (even had Gloria Estefen perform for us)!

It was fantstic to spend time with family - some of which we hadn't met before. We immediately felt welcomed and as though we had been there for a long time (not usually something that is easy to make people feel).

It was great to hear stories about Opa and his brothers and sisters growing up, was wonderful also to look at photos and see where he was from. I did get a little teary at times :)

The night before we left Rotterdam we had dinner at Sylvia and Jap's house - so many people came. A great time was had and it was such a lovely gesture.

A huge thank you to Leon, Peter and Ransom for having us - you guys were great (we look forward to returning the favour someday)!

Aunty An and Uncle Dolf thank you for your gift - it is something I will treasure.

Thanks to all the family in Rotterdam - you've helped us make many happy memories :)
