We spent 2 nights in Amsterdam with Uncle Bill's cousin Leny, who showed us some sights around the city!

We saw hidden churches, van Gogh's museum, Heineken brewery (we were staying on the same street, boy was Chris excited since he missed out on it last time!). We did wander past the red light district (not so much at night though). There were many beautiful old buildings throughout the city - a lot of which were leaning.

After Amsterdam we made our way to Rotterdam!

Once we arrived into Rotterdam we phoned Opa's sister An and her husband Dolf - within an hour we were at their house being rather spoilt!

We stayed for dinner and caught up with Leontien, Peter & Andre - it was awesome to hear stories about Opa and how fond their memories are of him. Photo albums came out of when he was young and from when he had his family in NZ! Nice photo's of my Mum, Aunty and Uncles :) Needless to say - Sjaan got a little teary at times.

The next day we were taken on a tour of where they grew up as children and where the family business was! It was then back to Aunty An & Uncle Dolf's for lunch followed by Opa's brothers and sisters coming over. It was the first time i had met some of them, yet it felt as though you'd known them for a long time!

Chris and I had such a lovely time and decided that 2 days was not long enough to spend with them, so after Belgium we are going back to stay for another week!
