Well the big day has arrived and went. Yesterday, the wedding, the reason I flew around the world, was lovely. It was a bit of an overcast day but this picture was taken during a break in the weather outside of the church. The whole day was just great. JP and Lucy really had a great time and all the plans came together for them. Lucy and her mum's planning paid off and the day was a very memorable one. The ceremony was 1 hour and 40 minutes and it was great. it didn't seem long. There was a stringed music group, a soloist and a choir who played and sang traditional latin hymns. Following the ceremony there was an afternoon tea for about 150 people where speeches and the cake were cut. The cake was a traditional British fruit cake. It was delicious.
After the tea we went to a dinner reception for about 50 of us. It was a very nice way to end the day. There was dancing and good eats all night long. I'm sure that JP and Lucy would agree that the day was magnificent.
Today, I fly home around 9:30pm. Getting home will be an over 30 hour journey. I am anxious to get there and am looking forward to seeing my kids and Tim so much. Skype has been great and I'm thankful for it, but their internet over here isn't the best so it's been challenging.
Before leaving, I have to pack and we'll probably have lunch down by the water. It is very chilly here today. In the south part of New Zealand they got a bunch of snow yesterday - but not here.
Thanks for sharing in my journey. My next correspondance will be from the states! Good ole American soil. Being abroad is great, but I'll be glad to get home. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers as I journey home. I am hoping for smooth flights (3 in total).
All the best to all of you!!
