Friday 9th June
Going to bed last night was one full of trepidation as I anticipated a Labour wipe-out and a Tory strut today. This was followed by thunder and lightning and some rain. So it was only with the intervention of a Dutch caravaner that we learnt the good news even though it was dissipated later by the DUP. Maybe the sailing won't be a smooth as she expects over the next few weeks. In any case the EU will be aware of her predicament. I say that because although its 'our' predicament it is she who thinks she commands all that lies before her. Here is hoping that is not the case.
Our drive into the Dordogne was interesting. Once again the lunacy, even madness, of some French drivers leaves one a little shaken. They seem to have little concern for their lives, or indeed others as that overtake somewhat recklessly at times. Avoiding the autoroutes the other roads were quiet and generally good. However, the closer we got to Ste Foy the twister the roads became. But that meant we were in lovely rural countryside full of vines and other produce.
Our campsite is said to be just outside the town. However, the instructions fail to mention the minor detail that it only to be found after wending ones way along increasingly narrow roads. Finally, one has to negotiate a road with a sharp bend and buildings on either side. Fun indeed. Photos to follow hopefully
The site is very quiet, beautifully laid out with very friendly owners. Well maintained, neat and tidy it's a gem of a situation.
We plan to stay only a few days before heading off to the Tarn. But then again, maybe, perhaps, well….well we shall see!
