We all awoke well rested to the sound of laughter and music outside our window in the street below. Apparently we were across from a famous beer hall and brewery. Hungry, we walked across the street and had the best time ever!
Pete and I shared a Bavarian Feast of traditional German meats - salted pork knuckle, roasted chicken, bratwurst, wieners, meatballs, potatoes and red cabbage. Amazingly delicious! The kids ate Kinderschnitzel and pomme frites (AKA chicken nuggets and French fries). We topped off our meal with the most delicious apple strudel on the planet!
A "few" German beers later we found ourselves being continuously toasted by the locals - "Probst!" As I chatted with Veronica from the Black Forest, Pete and the kids were entertained by Ben and Michael. Felix, our waiter, kept the drinks flowing! We felt like we were at Oktoberfest!
It was a wonderful way to end our first day in Munich, Germany!
Dylan says he loves the Germans and wants to stay here for at least a year. Christian is trying to be our German translator and is working hard at learning the language from our guidebook. When he tried to ask Felix where the bathroom was it came out a little garbled. Felix couldn't understand so we showed him our book. He said the translation meant "What the f**k?", so much for guidebooks!
I Love the Germans!
