Left Eurimbula on Sunday morning, and took a drive via Gladstone to Rockhampton. After some very helpful advice from an old duck at the Information Centre, we set up camp at the Riverside Caravan Park. And Lea thought Eurimbula was bad for midgies... Yesterday we had a poke around 1770 and Agnes Waters, then hit the dirt roads up to our campsite at Bustard Beach. Nice spot in amongst the trees, right behind the dunes, and down the end of the road is an ocean bar - looked fishy, but we haven't had any luck. Packed up camp at Inskip Point on Friday morning in a tearing hurry, due to showers... again... Drove up through miles of pine plantations (even saw wild brumbies, Trey!), and then miles of sugar cane, up through Childers and on to Bundaberg. We arrived at Inskip Point wednesday arvo and found a nice spot on the inside of the point, look familiar Keiran? The south-easter blew the whole time easing off for a few hours in the arvo which made me get the fly rod out and Lea the spinning rod. Thursday arvo we strolled over to the open side to see a school of tuna going nuts, busting up, jumping clear of the water at times... awesome to see. Of course they were out of casting range but that didn't stop us ...
