Hyggehejsa! :)
Death Valley NP gjorde stort indtryk.

Hello hello! :)
On monday we left San Diego about 9.15. We had quite a drive ahead of us - about 500-600km to Death Valley National Park. We drove from big cities, to smaller towns/villages to the desert. Even though we had looked for a place to stay overnight the evening before, we hadn't found anything we liked (or fitted our budget). So without any exact destination, we drove into the park via the west entrance. The first "town" we came to was Stovepipe Wells. Here we purchased our national park pass, which is our ticket to all the parks we will visit on our trip. We thought it was to early to stop here, so we drove on to Furnace Creek. But here we didn't find a place to stay either, so we continued out of the park on the east side to Death Valley Junction. And ladies and gentlemen, I dare say that you have NEVER experienced anything like this place. The only hotel or house in this place was an old building in the middle of nowhere. It seemed there used to be a theater or opera place a long time ago, because the place was filled with costumes, pictures from shows and so on. The place can not be described in words, but we chose to spend the night here. The receptionist, an 85-year old man, was incredibly kind and helpful.
The next morning we got up at 5.45 (!!!!!) in order to be in the park shortly after sunrise. After having enjoyed the view at Zabriskie Point, we drove to Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the US and hereafter via the ghost town Rhyolite to Beatty. None of these places can be described properly, you have to see them in real life.
Death Valley made quite an impression. The way into the park, the way through the park, as well as the way out of it. The park is huge and there is loads to see. Fantastic nature.
Some short facts:
It seems like Denmark is a farely known country in the US.
On all the showers we have used until now, we have had to switch on the cold water, before being able to turn on the hot water.
In the park we experienced temperatures from 5-37C in less than 24 hours.
Next entry: LAS VEGAS!!!
Goodnight from me :)
