We woke up at about 9 am mega excited about the waterpark! We got on our swimming gear and decided to skip breakfast just incase it resurfaced on a random water slide. We stopped off at the pharmacy so Becky could get flu tablets as her glands are swollen and she thinks she's getting a bad cold. Tablets sorted and we met Eric Jeremy and nick outside their hostel. They introduced us to Amoree from Israel and we headed to the bus stop! We didn't have to wait long and before we knew it we were on our way! When we reached the ticket office we each paid 500,000 dong, so around 25 dollars. That's a cheap for western standards but definitely a pricier excursion for Vietnam . We then were told we had to get on the cable car that would take us over to the island. I have never been on a cable car and was actually surprised at how nervous I was. This situation was not made any easier by Eric jumping up and down!! I calmed down after a minute and realised maybe my fear of flying is actually a general fear of bring in enclosed spaces high above the ground haha.
We reached the resort (thankfully), threw our stuff into the lockers and got on our swimming gear. The age range of the group is 21 to 33 but I swear in that moment we were all transformed Back into 10 year olds. We were running around the waterpark in pure excitement wondering which slide to pick first. We decided to do the rainbow racing slide which we could all go down. We all went head first on mats, and it reminded me of the slide from camel beach near the poconos! Jeremy has obviously nailed his technique as he won every time. After then we took each slide In turn and had the most fun ever. Becky and I got a double rubber ring and did all the fun slides together! It was then time to do the 'toilet bowl' slide. It could be named that for many reasons and not all of them are because it looks like a toilet. I was absolutely petrified about this one especially after dad nearly breaking his arm in camel beach! Eric went, then Jeremy then nick then my turn! I flung myself down the tube and it was all going suprisingly ok. I then started to gain speed and jets of water were blocking my ability to see. By the time the slide connected with the toilet bowl part I was convinced I was a goner! It turned out to be really fun and i managed not to fall head first into the pool. When I got out however Eric and Jeremy were looking really concerned and asking me if I was ok. I told them yes and asked why. Turns out there was a nail sticking out on the ride which left two nasty gashes in nicks thumb, so he was in first aid being bandaged up! Back home or in the states the ride would probably be cordoned off and those health and safety fruitbags would be out in full force. Not in Vietnam however! It was beckys turn! Haha
After much fun we went to the 'food village' part of the park and had some scram. Becky and I shared rice and spring rolls which were tasty. The boys had full meals but knowing we were about to go in the wave pool we kept eating to a minimal. The rest of the day was ace. Amoree did her own thing for a bit and took photos as its her last day in nha trang. We went on more slides and then got changed for the couple of amusements. We queued up for this alpine ride for half an hour. It ended up being pretty cool and you climb up loads of feet and get to overlook the entire resort plus nha trang on the other side of the sea. Amazing. We then went on the pirate ship was was definitely a bad decision when we all turned green 30 seconds In. I also like how the pirate ship came with sick bags, just incase haha!
Back on the cable car I was feeling totally relaxed after an amazing day with the group. I got a fantastic shot of vinpearl from the cablecar overlooking the beach and the sunset which just blew me away. I had another moment where I was just completely happy. Sitting suspended above the ocean with one of my best friends and three amazing fellow travellers watching the subset. That stuff is absolutely priceless!
Becky and I headed back and showered and facebooked the dudes about dinner. We met at 9 at a rest restaurant. This place was supposedly famous for its Vietnamese pizza so Becky and I got a beef pizza and it was delicious! The boys then headed out to why not bar however Becky and I called it a night. The past few days had caught up with me and I ended to sleeping from 11pm to 10am. Nice!
