I Didnt hear one person coming home from their night out so the whiskey must have done its job! Becky woke up surprisingly early for a night out so we got up and did some exploring. We went to visit the Laos palace which was pretty cool and a nice place to read some more about Laos and it's culture. After that we headed to the museum which was actually fairly wick. It was also falling down around us which filled me with no confidence! We then headed to joma for a coffee! Joma!! I nearly passed out when i seen it as this was the place I used to hang out with Aiden and Anita and the gang in Hanoi; the best city ever! I had an iced coffee and Becky had some potato soup .
We then headed to an Internet cafe because Becky needed to check out her funds and I wanted to do some research on my new tattoo I'm going to get (sorry everyone, I love tattoos, deal with it haha). I want to get something traditional from Thailand because that's where I will be when I get it and something to symbolise my travels . Sak yant is the style of tattoo and it's really beautiful. I'm also going to get a traditional bamboo tattoo which means they hammer the ink into you with bamboo sticks with metal attached to the end. Buddhist monks are famous for doing this style and In Southeast Asia I've actually seen the most incredible tattoos on some of the monks. Weird because I Didnt think they were allowed tattoos! I think I've finalised placement and designs so now I just have to wait to chang mai to hit up dejavu tattoo. Woo! I'm also a bit of a retard and Didnt budget a tattoo into my spends which is ridiculous because OBVIOUSLY I would get a tattoo.
We then headed back to the hostel and I decided I would go out as it's the last night in Vientiane and I haven't seen the nightlife. We had a massive group down in the lounge and played some games of pool and had the most delicious barbecue ever.Crap tour guide John is a chef back in South African so he trained all the staff here and he did do a good job, il give him that! We had beef kebabs, corn, potatoes salad, stuffed tomatoes, barbecued chicken and weirdly, vegetarian sushi. Little did I know I would be seeing it all again later...
We headed to a bar which was actually quite dull and my chest was still in a heinous state. I had a couple of drinks and chatted with a girl called Lou from lurgan. I swear to god there is more irish people in Laos than there is in Ireland. Alan is good craic too so I think Becky him and I are going to travel up until Bangkok together. He said we immediately friendzoned him and always makes jokes to the other travellers of how we've broke his heart and we have only known him for a week and a half haha bless. After the bar we headed to a club called 101 and had a dance, mine and beckys favourite activity! I had some more drinks which was a horrendous decision. I already felt Crap and the sprints in Asia are lethal. I don't even think half of them are regulated because they get you drunk so quickly and make you feel horrendous the next day. The club started to spin and that was when I knew it was tuk tuk home time! Alan and Becky came too as there wasn't much going on. I got home just in time and spent a lovely night with me, the toilet bowl and my chest infection.
