The next morning we were up really really early in order to watch the sunrise at Uluru. Instead of watching it from the sunrise viewing area we all decided to do the 3 hour (9km) base walk around Uluru. This way we got to see the sunrise and the colours on the rock and walk around Uluru. As you can see from the picture Uluru isnt one flat surface there were lots of different formations to look at. I was only able to take pictures in certain areas as some are sacred aboriginal sites and are fobidden to take pictures. There are a few waterholes and rock art areas to look at too. After we finshed here we drove to Kata Tjutu. These are very strange shape 'rocks'. We arent able to walk around most of them, there is a small walk up between tow of them but you arent really able to appreciate their size or how many there are of them.
Back to camp for lunch and then a 4 hour drive to Kings Canyon. This was a more basic camp and had to collect fire wood for the camp fire on the way. Our driver/guide cooked our dinner over the camp fire. Slept in a swag again.
