Lesley and Ray arrived safely last Friday evening. Their timing was perfect. I was able to leave straight from work and go to the airport. I arrived at baggage claim about 10 minutes before them. We of course made a huge scene by screeming cooooieee at each other from accross the room. It's always emotional for Lesley and I, so we cried. Tears of joy.
American Airlines temporarily lost one of their bags. They are now 3 for 3 in delayed luggage and Ray is not too impressed. Fortunately the bag showed up the next day around 3 pm.
I had to work on Saturday which turned out to be great. Lesley and Ray slept until 1pm. Apparently traveling for nearly 30 hours can really take it out of you.
On Sunday I worked a half day and we had what we lovingly call family dinner. We like to have friends over for potluck on our deck. Great friends, good food, lot's of wine. The best part was that Ray and Scott and Missy finally got to meet. It seems impossible that this was the first time Ray met them. Naturally they hit it off.
The last few days we have been hiking, cooking gourmet meals and getting all those pesky last minute errands done. It has been great for me to have people to help me and I was definately ready for help. We have also had plenty of relaxing time. It has been wonderful catching up with my Aussie's.
Eric finally arrived home on Tuesday afternoon after two delays. We were all excited for him to get here, especially me. He is now off until July 3rd. Good for him. Or as Ray would say, good on ya mate.
This morning we are going out on the boat. This afternoon Lesley and I have mani-pedi appointments. We are both way overdue so pretty excited.
I still have to work this weekend which feels a little like torture. Good thing I love my job and my work week goes by fast. I have a lot to do before taking off for 18 days and we are busy.
Tomorrow night Eric, Lesley and Ray are headed downtown to join Scott and Missy for Taste of Fort Collins. This is a local food and beverage festival with live music. Saturday Eric is taking everyone out on the boat for the day. I would imagine they will all be hanging on the deck when I get home from work. I would guess that Sunday will be their day to pack and get organized.
I however am packed and ready to go on our Caribbean vacation. We meet Keith and Kevin at the airport at 7am on Monday morning. We are the first to take off for San Juan. My next post should be brought to ocean side in the Caribbean sea.
Cheers!
