My time in Bangkok ended today with an early morning flight to Hanoi. Flight time of 06:45 and being an international flight I need to be at the airport 2 hours prior. Being up before 04:00 was not pleasant however I did manage it OK. I flew Air Asia to Hanoi so it was quite cheap, about $60 Australian including 20kg of luggage. Somehow I managed to pick up about 2kg but unsure how. I didn't buy anything weighing that much.
I grabbed some breakfast at the airport and sussed out what planes were sitting nearby and took some pics. Caught some great shots of a Thai 747-400. The flight itself was uneventful. I will say that Air Asia is awfully cramped if you're tall. I'm 185cm or 6'1"and my knees were against the seat in front. Thankfully the flight was less than 2 hours. Apart from the legroom the seats are fairly comfy. Overall I'd say they were good for a LCC. For any flight under 2 hours I'd certainly fly with them again. And in case you were wondering, Air Asia fly A320's throughout Asia.
I feel I should take the opportunity to point out some of my highlights in Bangkok
Favourite meal: Pad thai with egg from street vendor on Khao san road
Favourite mode of transport: Easily the tuk tuk. I'm thinking i should post a blog dedicated to riding tuk-tuks
Favourite moment: Standing in the doorway of the chedi in Ayuttyha during the downpour
Stupidest moment: Almost leaving my ATM card in the machine. The ATM's give your cash first, then card which is opposite to home. Never noticed until now
