My flight was scheduled for 12:15 departure with boarding at 11:30. Delayed for some reason without explanation until 12:15 when it was announced there was some "engineering issues". That's swell "Ladies and gentleman, your inflight movie today will be 'WE'RE ALL GONNA DIIIIIEEEE...!!". Announcement at 12:45 advises everyone of a further delay to 14:15 approximately and they'll be handing out meal vouchers. I love a free feed, I hope it's in the Qantas lounge but unlikely to happen. There's a rush for vouchers "Yeah! Free s***!"And then a rush on the understaffed eateries air side. I manage to spend my $30 voucher at Gloria Jean's and got myself a sausage roll and a homophobic cookie, or so THEY thought. It was a smartie cookie with all the colours of the homo rainbow. Once again the "gay agenda" is at work mwahaha... Fabulous darling.
My aircraft today is a Qantas A330-200. When I booked the flight Qantas had Boeing 747-400 scheduled to fly this leg however with recent changes in their routing they downsized to the A330-200. Now I'm no size queen but I was disappointed when the downsize was announced. I haven't been on a 747 since 2005 and it is one of my favourite planes and quite possibly the last time I'd get to fly on one as Qantas is retiring them in the coming years and other airlines flying to Australia rarely fly them to Sydney anymore. 3 points to those who can name 2 airlines that still fly 747's to Sydney other than Qantas. I haven't been on an A330 before so I'll be able to tick that off my list.
Seen a few hotties about while waiting for my flight. One with arm tats and scruffy hair mmm... nice so I decided to subtly sit behind to perv. Ya'll know how it is. Saw this chic dressed to the 9's in the check-in line but her face looked like it had been raped with the lipstick. She also had a massive backpack too which didn't quite fit the image. Oh well. Have you ever noticed how parents will stuff their kids faces to keep them occupied and quiet? Fingers crossed they've slipped some Phenergan in the snacks so we don't have a screaming child or children on board. I love kids, I just don't want them screaming and kicking my seat while my long legs are awkwardly positioned (insert innuendo. Who's endo?)
The flight looks like it'll be close to full which is a shame as I wanted a row of seats to myself, I mean it's not too much to ask is it? I did select a row of 2 seats, it's not it's a row of 4 sheesh! It is only a 9 hour flight so not too bad I guess.
Anyway, thus concludes my first blog entry. It's been fun writing it and I hope you get a kick out of it, if you don't then I'll try harder or you can just entertain yourself
