Tuesday - The last Blog!
Friday night was a bit of a wash our literally as there was a huge storm, it bucketed down with rain so in true Ghanaian style everything stopped, so there was no culture dancing. Luckily we had Hanan (our drumming teachers) number and he told us that it would be on the following night.
The visit to Paga on Saturday was OK. We held crocodiles and watched them being fed with a live chicken, but it was all a bit surreal! To start with it was raining for our whole visit and before we got to see any crocodiles we were taken into a traditional mud hut and talked at for a while, all in the hope that we would give a donation to the community for looking at some house which we had already seen. So we told him we really weren't interested and then got to see the Crocs. They are a lot smoother than I thought they would be... but still a bit scary. When the guys were taking photos of both Jenna & I and the crocodile turned round. Jenna dropped his tail and tried to leg it and they told us off!!
When we had finished I wanted to go and see Paga Pia's palace, but we were so harrased by taxi drivers wh just wouldn't believe that we were walking in the rain and by one guy on a bicycle who wanted to be our guide, we gave up in the end and made the 2 1/2 hour journey back.
In the evening the cultural dancing was back on. It was fantastic... made our drumming look absolutely ridiculous! The energy in the dances were just amazing, one of my highglights!
Sunday we journeyed back to Accra and really just did a bit more exploring and chilling before finally coming home.
Although we had ups and downs in Ghana, I really do love the place especially Tamale... maybe one day I'll go back!
