Not expecting too much from Brisbane we arrived and headed for the nicest part of the city, Southbank, home to the public lagoon. Following this was a very successful evening with us winning $100 in cash in the hostel bar quiz, a brilliant achievement considering the number of competitors. Celebratory drinks were in order and trying not to spend all the $100 in half an hour we enjoyed each other's company for that night in a slightly more civilised manner than what we had been used to of late .. so in the end a decent day and night in Brisbane.
Noosa was our next stop and we were buzzing for our last chance to surf. The delay of the bus from Brisbane however didn't do well to add to this excitement reducing our time in the swell but as soon as we got to Noosa we were straight out. Equipped with smaller boards and bigger waves we had a very testing experience but an awesome one and a great way to end our short surfing careers in Australia. The best way to celebrate this was of course another night out and that is exactly what we did.
A very early start on the greyhound bus to Hervey Bay didn't go down too well but as it was our set off point for the Fraser Island trip we were buzzing. As we got to Hervey we were rushed into our trip groups and taken to the supermarket to do a mad shop for food and alcohol for the next three days on the island. I can report that our trolley consisted purely of a very large quantity of alcohol and an even larger portion of meat for our barbeques. The night before our trip was spent feasting on all you can eat pizza, hastily packing and getting an early night's sleep in one of the sweatiest hostel rooms I had stayed in.

Hugo I was at your stall at the Caloundra markets and boghut a necklace from with a vintage scrabble tile with Alice, (in Wonderland), on it, my favourite movie of all time thankyou so much! It's beautiful and I have had plenty of comments on it and people asking where I got it.
