Two days in Parque National Torres de Paine, Patagonia, Chile. Seven days taken away from us when we were evacuated. Fire. Personally, we are very disappointed since this was to be the highlight of our time in South America. On a larger level, this fire means loss of a national treasure for many years to come, as well as a huge loss to business revenue from tourism (or lack of tourism).
Returning to The Singing Lamb hostel and a hot shower was a welcome consolation for our sadness. The manager is a motherly woman in her sixties who makes a mean porridge for breakfast every morning. Now if I could just get that Lambchop song out of my head......
We will next head north about 8 hours to explore some glaciers and do more trekking and wilderness camping.
