Now In Tokyo

Having a good time in Tokyo though it was a slow start, as really enjoyed Beijing & was sad to leave! Caught my flight and arrived in Tokyo on Wednesday at 19.20pm so got through customs & navigated my way to the hostel with the help of some really nice Japanese people who helped me. Staying at Khaosan Tokyo Smile Hostel, reception was closed by the time I got there but they had left me a key so got to my door was intending to head out to a bar but was a little tired so went on internet.

Had to get up for 10am to check in then went for a walk around my hostel area, didn`t really see that much though found a few markets that were alright then came back & went out with my Aussie room mate for dinner he speaks fluent Japanese so went to a real Japanese place where the food was cooked in front off us, it was surprising nice as had vegetables in it which if you know me I am not a fan off but hey when your in a foreign country why now, but don`t think I`ll be making a habit of it! Afte that we went to the local bar which was crap & for a time we were the only people in it! Got home around 12pm.

Today Friday, had a lie in then went to Shinjuku to find the bright neon lights Tokyo is famous for, though not as exciting as I thought it would be! but was still alright. Then went in search of the Goverment Twin Towers though my lack of Japanese & awful map reading skill doesn`t really help! Eventually found it after literally hours of trailing around in circles but was worth it as you can get the lift to the 45 floor and the 360 degree panoramic views you get where worth it. I even seen Mount Fuji which I really hoped I would.

In the evening although not a big fan went to see We Will Rock You with Queen & Ben Elton, which was rather good having never really been to many musicals & it was in English. It was full & I had an amazingly great seat only 7 rows from the front then got my metro back to hostel! Tomorrow I will try and get up earlier & see many more sights & make decisions whether I will stay here for the remainder of my stay in Japan or head to another city!
