Good photos & news. However, slightly worried about the hat David - where is the Akubra?!
Hope Howard has emailed you re you being ok for Buck Palace late Sept & Xmas Dinner on 1/12, maybe at the Cambridge (it has changed hands apparently)! We need to keep "Country members" informed!

Seem to have had a few problems communicating with you two don't I - I think you have a detector that can tell when I am suffering the delights of Tesco's and then choose that time to ring - that's twice now!!!! Sorry for lack of emails seem to be having a bit of a problem at the moment - will try and sort out today and send some photos ... not long to go now!
Mum, I am sure we pull the same face when concentrating - I have a photo of me learning to ski very similar to that! It does look very alpine there. Its great you have got the bug for skiing - maybe we'll all have to go in a couple of years! The glacial photos are fantastic - looking forward to seeing all of those when you get back.
Hopefully we'll get to catch up soon - preferably before you return home!

Hi Susan & David, isn't it funny how the little things come to mean so much, a hot shower, a clean sit down toilet, a fire on a cold day, pizza at Uyuni, a good local steak & wine. The Glacier trip sounds great, in fact as usual it all sounds great. Great to read your stories, keep them comming.

Hi you two,
Your trip seems to cover everything...talk about hot to cold! low to high! What haven't you two experienced! The blog and pictures really keep us in touch and certainly help us back home to visualize what you are doing. Thanks for squeezing in the time, uploading all the bits.
Ann and I are off to France on Friday with caravan, all being well that is! She is flat-backing with a bad back and I'm getting over a horrendous bout of flu. We stop off in Paris for three days near Versailles and then down to Dordogne for a week before the men and some children!!! join us.
Weather has got better here - not much rain now and more sun - marvelous compared to your snow!!!Ha ha (not the scenery though!).
Keep having a great time and see you sometime soon.

Hi Sue & David,
I started my last message to you by saying words to the effect it was wet & cold here & seemingly more to come. Well it has certainly been wet and you may well have caught up with the news about the current floods in Oxon, Glos, Hereford etc & the recent ones in the North. Last Friday morning was horrendous here & it is a miracle we were not inundated. We were visiting friends in South Somerset for the w/end. It is notionally a 2 & half hour trip - we took 4 hours 10 mins! A great start as we were half way up Reigate Hill when the traffic news said the Reigate to Leatherhead section of M25 was shut due to landslide & snow ploughs were out to clear the mud! The journey did not improve! We got home in 2 hours 25 mins on Sunday @ an average speed of 59mph! We passed the Little Chef at Chicklade & it took me all my time not to turn in for a "Dartmoor breakfast"!
We also managed a long w/end away with the girls in Paris from the 13th to the 16th inc. Went on Eurostar which was good. Saw Bastille Day Parade which was impressive. We say only we Brits can put on a military bash, but the French do a good job too. Good weather & lots & lots of walking - so many kilometres in fact that Sally's "bad knee" is back.
Our travel problems pale into insignificance compared with you standing for hours in the snow whilst awaiting "rescue". Hope things improve. I guess you have thought that your Xmas card this year will be "home-made" using one of your "snow" photos & with a Robin added to make it look an authentic "English scene". I must warn you that as a result of a big hoo ha at the BBC involving faked scenes/events etc., we will now be very suspicious of any such card & suggest you just stick to one with you at the vineyard - that has to be really authentic!!!!!!!!!!!
Ought to end now as I have the meal to prepare, but will just say do not mention the Malvinas when east of Chile!!
Best wishes, Sally and Stephen.

Hi you two
Sorry to be so tardy in making contact but time flies, but we do think of you alot.
Your photos make our French trip seem boring. However we had some magnificent scenery through the Alps with snow on the tops. Car loaded with wine and no turbo on the car. We nicknamed it Herman (after the tortoise!!)
Looking forward to seeing you soon. Hope Claire is well. Travel safely

Well the photograph says it all. David in his natural habitat. He looked quite at home in the wine cellar with a glass in his hand. Glad to see all that education is not going to waste.
A few of us went to the Prom last night at the rec on the A23. It was a bit cold and I have to say started badly. After half time a few people made a break for it but those of us that stayed on were treated to an excellent performance from The millenuim band from Crawley. So much so that Andy/ Andrew / Ross and the girls were up doing the hornpipe and making a stab at dancing to Zorba the greek. The 1812 with the fireworks was excellent. We did think of you guys when we were there and thought you would have enjoyed it. Maybe next year.
Anyway you will be back here soon and can let us know all about your first installment of your travels. Can I book you in as guest speakers for a joint 41 club/ Tangent meeting ?
Off to Pragiue on tuesday with Richard and Ann ( hoping the weather will be better in Praguer athan here) .
Looking forward to spending some time with you in Prague.
Glad to see you looking so well and obviously still enjoying the trip immensley.
John
lots of flag waving when land of hope and glory started . All we need next year is the dambusters

Hi David and Susan, Well all the superlatives have been used but honestly your photos are spectacular and it's really interesting following your blog. So much so I was getting withdrawal symptoms on our holiday in Spain and France: logged on as soon as we got home. We were quite isolated on our inntravel walking week south of the Pyrenees-some days not seeing another soul. How's the Spanish? I got confused with the Catalan version. Had a good week by the Canal de Midi-easy cycling by the canal. We're up and down the A12 for the next 2 W/E's-my sister is having a 25th Wedding Ani party this Sat and Harry is being Christened in Horley the following week so we may see some fellow msg boardees!-Liz &Rod

Hola Susan and David!
Wow what an amazing adventure you are both having. Not jealous at all...honest! The blog and photos is a brilliant idea to use to keep us updated with your trip and wish we were there too.
The sun is shining today so do not feel that gloomy!
Take care and keep enjoying yourself - I know it is a hard thing to do, but someone's got to do it!!
Look forward to the next installment.

Hi you two and a belated birthday wish to Susan. I think most people have said it all really - rain, rain and torrential rain - you're not missing anything though today is the first fine day we've had for a bit! Good job too - Nick has just gone down to Dartmoor to do his Gold Expedition for D of E (peanuts compared to what you are doing).
Tim has just finished two weeks work experience and now looking (ha ha) for a job!
Andy has had his x-ray and looks like he will finally get his knee done. We'll see on Monday!!!
I'm on my last legs for the end of term - 2 weeks to go!
The Inca Trail looked awesome! Thanks so much for making the time to do this blog - it's great. Just think how fit you'll be when you come back home!
Take care

John + Gill
Well you two seem to be enjoying yourselves. Makes my evening in the smoke free farmhouse with Ross/ Richard/ Andrew / Andy very tame. We had a BBQ last weekend when Gill was over from Prague to celebrate Gill's and Ross's birthdays ( and something about an MBA) . Good night was had by all . Gills friends from the OU mixed really well with the Horley crowd. As you can see from all the emails it had been a bit damp in the UK. So should not be a hose pipe ban or water shortage on your return. I hope you guys are going to write and article/ book whjen you finish to inspire the rest of us to follow your lead.
Really lovely to see you both still enjoying it and look forward to seeing you on your return and hearing about it in person over a glass or two of wine .
And a belated happy birthday
All the best
John

Glad you had such a special birthday Susan. It may be cold there at night but it can't be anywhere near as wet as it's been over here! There was even hail several inches thick in South London this afternoon - more like winter than July.
