We really like the International Hotel Killarney, a beautiful old place with a lot of charm. The halls remind us of a cruise ship but the room was large and very comfortable.
We first visited Killarney Castle then went to the Muckross House, a 200 year old Victorian mansion set on a lake outside of town.
Because the weather had cleared up we took off on the Ring of Kerry, a beautifully scenic tour of the peninsula. We made it as far as the Ladies View (did I mention the roads are narrow?).
This spot is so mesmerizing and beautiful. From high on a hill we have a crazy cool view of the green meadows, rocks and water far below.
I think this was one of Lynn's favorite spots so far as we sat at an outdoor rooftop restaurant table, sipping cappuccinos and eating local dessert.
Afterwards, walking the streets of the small Irish towns and window shopping was very relaxing but the life of me, I have no idea how so many small pubs can stay in business!
Back at the hotel and a quiet dinner at a locally pizza place.
