Well my wonderful people it has been a while but it has been a fairly hectic few weeks settling in to both the new job, flat and life really but I thought I would give you a bit more of a rundown of how things are going and who I am currently sharing my time with and s*** like that.
Things have moved along a fiar bit since I last wrote, I'm settled into the job which is working me hard, I'm doing a lot of overtime having to start early and finish late and I have to work today as well (Saturday) which sucks but its really all about the money as I am getting a big old wedge of cash for what I'm doing at the moment which is good. I get on with my boss really well and although we are all hired through a recruitment agency she has her own project management business and hopefully will be able to get me some more work after the 24th November when the current project finishes. Evreyone at work is sociable enough and I'm slowly getting used to how these aussies work but its not been too difficult as its not really that different from back home. Our client is a huge construction company in Oz and they supply a lot of good corporate goodies mainly free drinks after work on a Friday….and the occasional free cake and biscuits. Work in general is pretty hard work but the money is good and its only for a couple more weeks so it'll fly by.
The house is going really well, I'm well happy with the people that are here as we all get on so well and there really aren't any dramas what so ever. So here I a breakdown of the key people who live in my flat and the flats above/below:
Dave Watters - English guy who has just been in the states, Hawaii and Fiji before coming here - living legend.
Michael - My roommate, german guy who is here on an internship/studies until Christmas, very chilled out and very knowledgeable man. We both work Monday to Friday 9-5 so we get up at a similar time. Couldn't have asked for a better roommate.
Katie - Katie is a german girl in the next room along, she is on a work holiday visa like me and has the coolest job - if not the most stressful - of decorating Christmas trees around the city, she work very hard but always does it with a big smile on her face. Lovely girl.
The 2 Columbian girls - They are in the same room as Katie and I don't actually know they're names, they don't speak much English and keep themselves to themselves but they are polite enough to everyone.
Shalyn - American girl in the next room. Shalyn was the very first person I met in the house and she was amazingly friendly and made me feel very welcome. She is here on a work visa and works in a restaurant on darling harbour which means that we don't get top see her that much as she works evenings/weekends. She loves Love Actually, my british accent and is good fun to be around.
Manon - Manon is a French girl who lives in the same room as Shalyn and is here on an Internship working for a Law place thing. She is great fun and has a really good sense of humour. Manon is teaching me French, although I only seem to remember the rude words…. Recently me and Manon had a very traumatic experience drunkenly falling off a wall and breaking someone's washing line. Manon loves getting woken up by my bad singing in the morning
Phil - One of the two Belgian guys in the flat that rock my world. Phil is ridiculously tall and is here on an internship until the end of November. Phil teaches me naughty words in French and I teach him naughty words in English. He is great fun and him and Mike (see below) spend most of their time being the naughty devil on my shoulder and getting me to go out drinking on a school night!
Mike - The other half of the Belgian devils, a very cool guy who has managed to coin the phrase 'miked out' as he has a habit of getting drunk and either leaving early or getting thrown out of a club… good times! Has a habit of falling in love with girls that he lives with but enjoys the same things as me beer, women and hungry jacks.
Jonathan Russo aka Russo - American metro sexual guy who lives downstairs, an awesome guy with a worryingly similar sense of humour and rudeness as me. We spend a lot of our time discussing the finer things in life and definitely not talking about women….honestly. Always game for a laugh.
Sam - Sam is an american guy from florida. I fell in love with him straight away after he told me that he went to school with Jason Campbell (QB for the Redskins),. One of the few people I can talk to about the nfl and a very funny guy who reminds me a lot of my good friend nick bidder. Great fun to be around but thinks I look like matt damon.
Olivier - French guy downstairs enjoys beer, music and kicking my arse at poker. Always knows where a party is at and what is going on. Resident DJ of the house.
Clark - American guy from DC who lives downstairs. Is very good fun to be around and is always very lively. We have had many long conversations around sexuality and he spends most of his time trying to turn all the guys in the house. A good asset to the house.
Serge - Our resident French Canadian, a really good guy who loves all things sports, taking his top off and shouting out 'Holy crap, she is a gift to my eyes' to pretty girls that he sees. Currently working as a soccor trainer.
Travis - Another american dude in the house and the resident house slut, the only person in the house who doesn't share a room and makes full use of it!!!!
Isabelle - very sweet Swedish girl who has to put up with our loud noise and Sam constantly telling her that she has a 'heavy' accent.
Sophie - the newbie! An English girl who has recently moved in, seems very nice and sure we will get to know her better as time goes on.
Well that's not everyone but I will continue to update as time goes on. We are off to a big Halloween party at the weekend and me and the guys have decided to go as the village people which will be awesome. Other stuff we have planned is a tour round Sydney that goes to all the points where the matrix was filmed, a improv comedy night, the horseraces and French lessons. Hope all is well and your all enjoying things. I'll write again in a couple of weeks and let you know how I get on!!
