.......relaxing in Udaipur ('the city of lakes').

After breakfast, we set off on foot to the Jagneth Palace, a Hindu temple built in the 17th century. The architectural detail was astonishing. I paid my respects and entered barefoot alongside the local worshippers. I am not a religious man, however there was an incredible sense of calm. I had little understanding of the Hindu culture before this trip and it's complex hierarchical structure.

We then made our way to the City Palace, home of the Maharana and the location of the City of Lakes short film (google and watch it if you can).

The afternoon was relaxing- vegetable Pakoras and obligatory Kingfisher beer in the hippy roof top bar, Dream Heaven. After a spot of blogging on the dodgy wifi cafe, we embarked on a sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola...all in all a chilled out day.

If any of you get a chance, Udaipur is stunning and definitely worth a visit.
