Hey few people who read my mindless musings. So, straight to the point like a badger on a radiator. On last day of new York we had a choice between the met and the aircraft carrier museum thing. Being that we have no understanding or real appreciation for modern art we chose the Aircraft carrier. Firstly, all very nice an impressive and big. Why there is a concord when america never embraced the British/French jobbie I have no idea. More importantly, although impressive, for the price it cost to get in I was surprised about how little of it you could explore. Basically the ship is used as a hanger with just a couple of its actual areas on show, slightly dissapointng. In the evening we went to the comedy club Dangerfield's. Having being sold tickets on the first day we finally got around to using them and it was rather a chuckle.
Anyhu, on to DC. 4 hourz on a greyhound bus and arrived. Checked into a hostel which is more like a large house with far too few toilets but a nice atmosphere at least. Explored our general are in the evening then went to bed.
today have had a good walk around the main step taking in all the walk in Memorials. Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson etc. All very nice and very pretty.
DC itself seems nicer than NY. Don't get me wrong NY is far more impressive, but with the exception of the monolithic number of homeless people, the whole place is less crampt, all nice buildings, calmer and feels safer. This may change during our stay but is my first.
Anyways, may go to pub later and shall update again when I get round to it.
Much lave
