Went to Coramandel Town in the morning along the twisting coastal road with great views from high up of the coves and bays. Visited the Driving Creek Railway near Coramandel, the result one mans obsession, vision, energy. He started it at the age of 26, laying all 2.5km of the track himself. He is now 77. The railway climbs up a steep hill, through a number of tunnels, switchbacks and spirals steep hill, to the "Eye-full Tower".
Spent the afternoon in Whitianga. Hilary and Gill went to "The Lost Spring", a hot spa, and came looking decidedly spaced out! Whilst they were in the spa Chris bought a cheap guitar and I bought a very cheap ukelele for us to play whilst we are in NZ.
In the Evening we had a lovely home made dinner at the B&B, and some great conversation, with Helen and Ed.
Roast NZ lamb. Yum. This was followed by a musical session on piano and guitars, with singing! We all had a very good time.
