After leaving Lakes Entrance, we stopped off on the Ninety Mile beach a couple times more and had a little lunch. Then Dave decided we needed to get to somewhere soon so we could pitch up the tent and get to a pub.. as it was the Aussie's soccer team's big night! We found a cute little town with a cheap campsite that had a pool, so we had a quick dip and looked for a pub. There was only one in the little town and i was the only girl in it. The local country guys, with their beards and old checked shirts, were all so welcoming we joined them to watch the exciting game.
From here we hit the road for Wilsons Prom. When we arrived we were told to keep all food in the car otherwise we'll get an agressive Wombat ripping through our tent... that was a scarey thought!
We went for a walk accross the the hills to find 'Squeaky Beach'. IT was well worth the hike, and the sand did squeak under my feet when i walked.
The following day we decided to go on a big hike to see some awesome views. The 6 K walk to the viewing spot, wasnt too painfull as it was mostly down hill... But for those who know me.... i struggle when a bumble bee buzz'z past me, imagine me with bees and flies and mosquitos, and now a snake... a couple of lizzards, aggressive wombats... metre high Kangaroos and that without all the birds that dont really shoooo when we you tell them too. IT was all a bit scarey for my liking. But we hiked on and by the end of the day we walked 12 K's, and the last 2 of that was on the main road, and thank god someone picked us up adventurely to save us the last leg.
So all in all, we walked alot, Dave swam alot and saw a heap of animals, and the whitest beaches surely makes theis the best National Park so far!
