Queenstown, New Zealand
MILLION DOLLAR VIEWS (LITERALLY)
'Sky' appears to be a popular adjective in Queenstown - 'Skyline', 'Skycity', 'skydiving,' 'race to the sky'... As I stand on a panoramic viewing platform overlooking Queenstowns ever expanding layout, I quickly remeber why they call it 'The Jewel in the crown of Southland'. Jen and I went down as part of a working adventure, mainly to meet the mounatin managers before the ski season kicks off. Once most of our meetings were over we talked to the duty manager of the Queenstown Skyline Gondola, and he agreed to an exchange whereby I write an article and in exchange we received 3 luge rides each and a trip up and down the gondola. I highly recommend the experience, it was great fun and just enough adrenaline to get the heart racing.
We had a blast that afternoon, and decided to go out for dinner later that night at a lovely restaurant called \'Bezu\'. The food was mouth watering and the desert perfectly capped off an explosion of the senses. What else...? Earlier in the week we visited the marketing manager of Skycity Casino and decided to try our luck with the two $5 match play vouchers we ripped out of the Queenstown visitors guide
\'Gambling genius !!!\' Was the catch phrase of the night as we slowly turned $10 into $200 on the roulette wheel and Blackjack. Once we hit $200 we walked away and back to the Villa Del Lago for our last nights sleep before returning to Wellington. It was a wonderful experience despite working 4 out of the 5 days we were there.
