this is our last week here in Valdes.

what have we been up too, we finished work today at 1.30pm, worn out and hot after using the scythe to cut yet morre nettles. I nearly jumped out of my skin whe I nearly trod on a slow worm, all coiled up and ready to pounce.lol.

We have worked on the small field which is by the little mill and stream for the past two and a half weeks. digging up bramble and cutting down the nettles. John's plan is to grow willow for fire wood.

We went out yesterday to look for some celtic remains of buildings. We did find them but the site was shut. we tried to walk in and got quiet far then came up to the iron gate and the paddlock, that wasnt my idea!!!!!!

we went shopping for some goodies and spent 28.00 euros, the price of food and drink is not bad, the cheapest stuff is of course beer and wine. you can get two coffees at the bars for 3.00 euros. which is the average price. you even get a free tapas, 'a slice of dry french stick with an anchovie on it'.

heading off on sunday towards Badejoz, for our 3rd helpx. but on the way we are going camping near salamanca for two days and see the tourist spots, (camping is around 16 euros a night) then on to Merida for two nights. Merida is an old roman town, with an amptheatre and other roman remains. yes, Dave loves it lol.
