So it was off to Los Angeles, central LA that is. I remembered it well. We went to Beverly Hills (very nice!) Bel Air, Hollywood, and Mulholland Drive.
I have to say my opinions on Los Angeles have changed, I suppose being over 21 and having a car kind of helped that situation! But Hollywood is quite funky, I remember it being seedy and unattractive. We drove the length of Mulholland Drive which was awesome, knocked into Jerry Brookheimer (the producer) up in the hills, which was cool! The Hollywood sign was still as white as ever, although you can’t walk up to it any longer, due to graffiti problems.
Nils took me to a great music store called Amebia records, which had 12 inch Feeder records! Luckily I had them all already but most of the CD’s were under, 3 pounds, new ones too. It was so cool! I indulged a little, as always!
Mulholland was really cool too, the houses are just astromically huge, its where all the A-list celebs live, Arnie, Brad, Jerry (just to use there first names!
The rest of my time in LA was spent hanging out with Nils and his mates, all film buffs, which was pretty cool. We had night fires on the Beaches and generally chilled out until I had to catch my greyhound bus up-to San Francisco via the LA stop. I remember the LA greyhound stop from when I was here with the dreaded Holly! It was horrible, surrounded by beggers and gang members, I really wasn’t looking forward to it, but to my surprise it had been done up and was really quite nice! Shocking, anyhow off to the most loved city in America!
