And we're off!
Australian ambiguity or the great Australian Argument, headed out on to the straight, initially a fair amount of protest from the back seat. 'Boarding house on stand by!" But after a relatively smooth sailing we have survived our first 24 hours.
Early breakfast visit to the MacDonalds at "Darra" Meridith, saw our first wild Koala.
Passing through Ballarat amazed and humbled by Honour avenue where nearly 4000 trees have been planted in memory of those who gave their lives in the First World War.
On to the Western Hwy, cruising at 90km/h, much to JRD's horror(best fuel economy but a truck drivers nightmare)! Stopped at Monara Vineyard, Ararat. Taste plate for lunch, big glass of Sav Blanc for Nicole
Passed the BIG Koala and rolled into Horsham (160km)for supplies, hooked up to power in the Caravan park by the Wimmera river. Royal Hotel for a steak, nuggets and too many chips(local tip for decent coffee for the morning) Back to the van for the night.
'Are we there yet?" Yep we are here??
