So we left KL for Melaka about 2 pm. The bus journey will only take two hours, but i have heard that before. Whilst driving through the outskirts of kl i realized i have missed much of the city. We should of gone out of china town more, but unfortunately we never. So after a quick journey we arrive in Melaka. Once again we chose to stay in the China Town area based on the facts it's meant to be really beautiful and cultured. All the other china towns we have been to are a great hang out for fellow backpackers. Quite a bit of history to this little port side town. It brags a not so proud five colonies through out it's time. The chinese royalties, Portuguese seafarers, Dutch traders, English colonists and of course now and currently still present, but for how long Malaya, better known to us as Malaysia. A lot of the dutch buildings remain in the town square and there easily defied from the other surrounding buildings.
So we tried to check in to some Guest and unfortunately they were fully booked. We ended up in a hotel just down the road. 60 r a night so quite expensive for Malaysia. The girls were staying here who we met in KL with another lad. We checked in and then went out to explore the town. The chinese new years is due in about a week or so. They had started decorating the town in lanterns and signs of all sorts. It looked really good actually and would be great to be in a china area for the celebration but we wont. China town has lots and brick a brack stalls. It's quite famous for antiques in asia. After seeing all of china town we went in to Melaka's other part. Here is just a town centre which is a bit dirty so there's nothing worth writing about this part. The time we got back it was 10 pm so we had a quick shower and headed out for a bite to eat and some drinks. We searched the city for about an hour and no where was doing food. We saw a pizza hut in the distance and decided that will have to do. As we got to the door they turned the lights off. In the end i had to settle on a chicken soup from Seven 11 so i wasn't to happy about that. The drinks never happened to. There was only two bars opened and they looked terrible so we headed back and played cards with the girls at the hotel. A fairly early night and a night off the beer is appreciated.
Today we wake in one mad rush and head to the bus station to go to Singapore. We have to be there before 11 am otherwise there's not a bus for another 2 hours.
