Harrow,
Arrived in Koh Tao about 2pm this arvo local time. The Catermaran ride was brill as it was very choppy. Passengers were throwing up everywhere and this f***ing ginger c*** who as about ten was just throwing up into the isle while his parent watched on and did nothing but tell him to 'look at the horizon' - what dickheads. How would they like it if I threw up all over there hotel room, especially when sick bags are provided. Some quality paranting on display - well done. Anyway, enough of that rant, its so bheautiful here and I cant believe how remote the island is. There is no mainland for about 50 miles in any direction. The bungalow that we've got is ok, but they haven't given us an aircon one like I booked. More rants to the reception staff tomorrow morning!!! Other than that its really nice. The restaurant is right on the beach and the beaches are beautiful. Need to go out in a bit to get some flip flops and some shorts (yup, I've still not bothered replacing the Chiang Mai two) then work on my tan. They are having a Christmas Eve pissup on the beach at our resort with a free BBQ (and there will be turkey being served!). Oh well, I suppose that I wasn't going to escape Chrismas completely.
Have got a couple of days to chill out before starting our diving course on the 27th. Looks as though our instructor is a bloke called Jamie who is from Gillingham - how small is the world.
Well everyone, hope that you had a good crimbo and are burning off the calories on an exersize bike somewhere. I didn't do much over christmas apart from eat, drink and chill out. The local 7/11 sells Ferero Roche so have been munchin out on them . Have been doing my diving course the rest of the time out here which I've completed today. I'm now allowed to go diving to a depth of 18 metres all by myself. Anyone fancy coming with me? I didn't think so but it is anazing being under that much water. Have done 4 dives over 2 days to get certified. The first 2 were to 12 metres and the second 2 were to 18 metres. Sat some blue spotted stingrays (CRIKEY) on my first dive and lots of interesting fish on the other dives. I didn't get attacked by a 30ft Great White which I was glad of but I'm sure Quint, Broody and Hooper would have come to my rescu had one turned up. Am just chilling for the rest of the day before heading to Koh Phangan tomorrow for the NYE festivities. The weather here has been cloudy most mornings but it tends to improve in the afternoons. Tan isn't coming along very well but I'm hitting the beaches for some chillin after the new year is out of the way. Haven't got any photos of Koh Tao yet but I've been busy drinking and making merry (and some diving). Might come back this way if I get some time to do some more fun dives (and get some pictures).
Happy new year everyone,
Further updates to follow.
