When you first arrive at a resort we find it takes a few days to get your bearings and not feel like a stranger on someone else's holiday. After four days at HI we chat more easily with staff and guests and know our way around without doing double takes. I assume most guests find this slow start to holiday acclimatisation?
With only one more sleep to departure, our thoughts and discussion moves to the next phase of the holiday on Hamilton Island and arrangements for transfers. Typical holiday resort wind down.
Dinner last night at Fontaines (winner of best resort restaurant in Australia I believe?) was good although the wine selection a bit ostentatious with the cheapest bottle around $A97. Our selection was not available so
we were treated to a Nanny Goat Pinot Noir from Central Otago in NZ which is normally $A137 for the same price. A good drop so we were pleased.
Dinner tonight is planned for Oriental and I guess the name suggests it will be the popular Asian Fusion style. Should be good.
A relaxing day by the pool is in order. Zzzzzzzzz!
