Danny's Travels
Finally we managed to break away from the grasp of Darwin and headed for Ayres rock the first leg of our oz experience. A three day trip was awesome another great tour guide and a great tour group made the time fly, so much so that we ended up staying with three of the girls in a dorm in Alice, they were awesome (uh oh Bournemouth girls we have a new group didn't take us long did it- jealous?) - They were fascinated by Chris and his ways, anyone who knows him will understand. Since we departed old blighty 2months ago a recurring theme has evolved with what seems every group we meet and spend more than one day with. This theme; 'let's watch Chris and see what stupid thing he does/say next'!!!! Honestly he has everyone in stitches, even now for me, everyday there is something he is the new age frank spencer.
Following our trip down we headed to Ayres rock for two days - it wasn't the greatest, everything was too rushed and are guide was a jerk (what a great word going use that more often). Chris climbed the rock but I chose not to due to the cultural significance, it just didn't feel right (and no it is not because I am lazy!!!!!!!!). The trouble with the oz experience, I now term the s**t experience has continued and upon arrival in Alice we discover another bus has been cancelled and they want to keep us in Alice for a total of nine days. However following my persistent phone calls and my calm and polite telephone manner (there is no irony here - I really was very good) they flew us out to cairns. Me and Chris have also discovered we have a fatal addiction to chili sauce, we are having it on everything - it makes the worst food taste so good.
I ought to mention I have again saved someone's life, the other night whilst camping out in swags (under the stars it was amazing) a girls swag caught fire, everyone was asleep I was drifting when I heard the commotion as a log fell from the fire onto her swag. Within seconds it was alight, so in the speed of light I/superdan flew over the camp and helped drag her from her bag. I then smothered the fire as best I could before soaking it under a tap. After all the commotion I made sure she escaped unscathed and helped her set up a new swag. Reckers I don't think even emerged from his covers in all the commotion - apparently he was comfortable in my ability to handle it!!! Hero of the hour again, how does superman do it, its quite hard work!!!!! Karma has some serious pay back to do!!!!!
