Dan "indiana" Jones and the travel adventures
G'day to all the readers over in pom land and where ever ( I think I must be international by now). After a long flight in which the in flight entertainment decided not too work (thank goodness for a pack of cards), We made it to Oz! It is so nice to be able to walk down the street without losing several pounds in sweat! Seriously, everywhere you went in South East Asia was boiling! Over there you went in to a shop just to cool down whereas Here you go in to warm up! It's much more like the good old U.Ks climate, much more bearable. After touching down down under we got a shuttle to our accomodation. We're staying in a backpackers place in the heart of Sydney. It's ideally located, cheap and really friendly. Our first night was in a dorm but fortunately it was only us in there! We've since moved in to a double room. My first impressions of Sydney locals weren't the best. We were absolutely shattered due to about 2 bad hours sleep in a 17 hour stretch and the fact it was a Friday night may have been a factor. But the guy who came up behind us in the supermarket to whisper that he had been dead 5 times and the woman/man/dyke thing that was threatening to kill everything in her path, surely didn't help! Anyway after a good nights sleep and venturing out in the day (the loonies all come out at night) things seemed much better. Sydney is an awesome city and there is loads to do. The only problem is money (isn't it always!) and trying to make it last. On our second night We managed to stay up to watch the F.A cup final (get in the mighty reds) and I'm sure that helped our sleep situation. Since then we have been taking things very easy. Believe me we've caught up with our sleep and then some. We've not got much of a plan from here really. We're going to have to work at some point but the longer we can delay that the better. And then there comes the obvious adventures of which I'm sure there are hundreds screaming out for us in this vast land....
