We were only here for a few days so this will be brief. Santiago is a beautiful city with some lovely architecture. Our few days were spent walking around and looking at the wonderful colonial buildings. We visited Santa Lucia which is the birthplace of Santiago, it is a hill in the centre of the city and there are some lovely panoramic views. There is a massive park called The Metropolitan Park, we rode up a Funicular to the top and there is a huge statue of the Virgin Mary. We then went on a cable car ride across the park and had a stroll around. The park was heaving with people, mainly locals with there families enjoying the sunshine and making most of the weekend weather.
Another great thing about Santiago is that there is a Sony shop there. I know you might be thinking why is this such a good thing. Well when I leave the camera charger in New Zealand and Dan goes balistic at me and I feel the fury, we manged to find Sony and buy a new one. To say this was a relief would be a very big understatement!
Well like I said this would be brief.
Off to Peru now. Will be in touch again soon.
lots of love
