Gosh we haven't written to you for almost 2 months - that's pretty bad!!! Time definately flys when you're having fun, we have been thinking of you though!!!
okay, catch up time....where to start??? The beginning???(sorry too much rain has washed what was left of my brains away!!)
....we started off in Melboune, the main aim there was to get ourselves some wheels, that took us about 5 days, when we found Daphne (the car) some other guys were already viewing her and to cut a long story short we got her by the toss of a coin (and a little bit of cash of course!!)
Melbourne was cool but when we got the car we were keen to get out of the city and into the big wild bush of Australia. We started off in a town called Pomonal, our first camp site we had to ourselves which was great at first then I started getting paranoid thinking we were going to get attacked in the night so was pleased when some others arrived. From there we explored the beautiful Grampians region, a national park with lovely walks, lots of rocks and great views - you get the picture.
Then we went south to Portland, worked our way east along the coast stopping at many pretty seaside towns until we got to the start of the Great Ocean Road. At the time the 'kids' were on school holidays so the camp sites were heaving with families but it was a nice atmosphere and we met some lovely people.
We really enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the Great Ocean Road.
From there we got a ferry over to the Mornington Peninsula were we went to Sorrento another cute seaside town. Then we went to Wilsons Promontary another great national park with a fab beach but no power supplies so I couldn't charge the camera so no piccies, sorry.
Mel + Christine, + Gina were due to be in Sydney so we made out way up the coast. We stopped at Mystery Bay which was lovely and Jervis Bay which was also lovely. - Lovely!!!
Got to Sydney, met up with Mel + Christine and they put us up in their luxury appartment in Manly. We spent a fab week with them, taking in the sights, having some lovely meals and drinking too much Pinot Grigio!!
Mike and I went on our way again and spent a couple of days in the Blue Mountains where we did some more walking, we saw our first wild snake. We took in some galleries and chilled.
thats all folks..................
tune in next time for part 2 of our Aussie adventures
love you bye bye xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
