Woke up just in time for breakfast at 9.30 and didn't feel too amazingly good. Had a quick bite to eat and then went over to the beach for a quick swim and lie in the sun which made me feel a lot better. Had to check out at 12, however we kept one of the rooms so stayed in there for a while.
At 3pm we met down in the lobby to go on our quad biking safari. One member of our group felt very sick still from the night before and was surprised she still went. Upon arrival we were given a explanation on how the bikes worked, which was simple enough considering they didn't have a clutch or gears. Got kitted up with a tea towel looking like garment to stop the dust getting in our mouth and we were away. Headed out towards some amazing looking mountains, however had to stay in a single line convoy just so that people didn't get lost, hit some rocks or get stuck in sand since we were in a fairly sparse area. Eventually arrived at a small settlement after 1hr of riding. The dancing show we were supposed to see was canceled so we went on another camel ride instead. I think my saddle wasn't quite on straight as my camel tried to kick me with his front foot several times, and I had to lean over a bit to keep it balanced. Was kinda glad to get off. After that we had a look around the place, and then had dinner inside a tent, of rice, vegetable soup and pita bread.
Had a fun ride back as it was quite dark when we left, and completely dark by the end of the trip. We were at the back so able to drop back a little bit and then have some fun. Reached 65km at one point, which was quite a bit when the lights on the bike didn't do a very good job of illuminating the track ahead.
Got back to the hotel, had a shower and then went across the road to an Italian restaurant. Had a spinach/cheese Calzone which was pretty average and then went for a walk to have a look at some shops. Met back down at the lobby at 11.30pm for our midnight departure on the overnight bus to Cairo. The ride wasn't too bad, however we did have to make some stops for the same said member who was still not feeling well, which culminated in trying to find a hospital in a town at around 2am. After finding it and waiting for a while we were on our way again.
