We came, we saw, we conquered! We have climbed the Great Wall of China and the mountain of mists, we have ridden a bamboo raft, and tonight we finished it all off by riding the star ferry across the stunning Victoria Harbour by night. It was truly magical! What a day we had today! We started off taking a walk through 'old' HK, where we saw (and smelt!!!) everything from sharks' fins on sale, to birds' nests available for soup making, to live bullfrogs having their heads chopped off! Halfway through the walk, we stumbled across 'Man Mo Temple' and some "cult" like activity (see videos). It was one of the weirdest things we have seen in China and that is saying a lot! Arrived in Hong Kong! The sun has gone down but you wouldn't know as it is so bright! We are off to find some food and a few bars. Love to you all, D&S x P.S we don't have any pics of HK yet so that is why I put a pic of the amazing pie that mcdonalds do in China. Why don't they do it in the UK?!
We went to the yulong river today and went cycling alongside it for over 20km before getting on a bamboo raft and travelling along it for 1.5hrs! It was absolutely amazing as the "karst" landscape of large limescale peaks meant there were views which we have never seen anything like before. Have arrived at Guilin safe and sound which is our penultimate destination :-( We r still having such fun and can't believe it is less than a week from being over! We had a lovely meal out tonight and are really looking forward to the coming 2 days. We are going down the yulong river tomorrow on a bamboo raft and then cycling through 4 minority villages to get back. We r so excited! D&S x
