My past couple days have been quite interesting. I left Stockholm on Monday, planning to head to Copenhagen. I couldn't find a place to stay in Copenhagen though so I decided to stay in Malmö, Sweden-just a 20 minute train ride away. I got to Malmö on Monday night. Due to some unusual circumstances I never actually made it to Copenhagen. I woke up on Tuesday and didn't feel so great but thought it would be alright. I went to the beach to read, take a little nap and do some people watching. While I was there the pain just kept getting worse and worse. I couldn't figure out what was going on so I decided to walk back to my hostel. I was there for about 20 minutes when the pain got so back I could hardly move. I thought I was dying for sure. The hostel called me a taxi to take me to the hospital. I had to lay there screaming in pain, trying to answer all their questions for about an hour before I finally got a shot of pain killer. As it turns out I have a kidney stone. The pain isn't so bad anymore. I'm desperately hoping it doesn't come back. I can't even remember ever having to check myselft into an American hospital much less one in a foreign country. The docs and nurses all spoke English though so I had no problems and other than the pain, it was quite an enjoyable experience. At least one to remember!
By the way, I missed Copenhagen all together including my favorite band that was playing on Tuesday night. It's okay though. Hopefully I'll get to visit Denmark sometime in the future. I've got a bus to Prague tomorrow. It will take 14 hours...
