Dan and Lu's Travels
Arrived in Toronto early on Thursday morning, after catching the overnight bus from New York and crossing the border at stupid o'clock. We didn't have any Canadian money, and thanks to me we had no cash card to get any out of the ATM...... So we had to wait until 9.30am to change some US currency at a bank. We then got a double decker GO train along the east lakeshore (Lake Ontario) route to Whitby, where Val, Emma and Mitchell picked us up. When you look at a map of the Toronto area its like looking at northern England. There's a York, Pickering, Whitby and Scarborough! Today we all went to a baseball game in the skydome in Toronto. Its a massive place, with a capacity of over 50,000 and the roof slides off when the weather is good enough; it was opening as we walked up to get tickets. We watched the Bluejays play the Kansas City Royals. dan and I spent most of game tryign to figure out the scoring, but the game is easy to understand - its basically rounders! It was really good actually, although there were too many big screens with stats on them flashing sometimes, I kept missing the pitch as I was reading when the players were born! The Bluejays lost though... We went and ate ckicken wings at a restaurant after the game.
