Well we've had our first taste of real UK winter weather today. We woke to 4 degrees but it soon rose to a lovely 5 degs. The wind was biting and it was raining. We had been lucky with the days so far but this gives us a taste of things to come. Oh well, at least we've only got 6 months of this left.
We had a lovely sleep-in this morning. Margaret's house is so peaceful that it really doesn't feel like a city. We eventually arose as we had to supervise Jo's shopping expedition. She gave us a tour around eventually ending up the shops. It's funny how driving along you are in suburbia then bang, you're in the countryside.
Jo completed her therapy (somehow Jac too) and she took us to St Peters church to pay our respects to her father and see the place where Geoff & Jo had their blessing. To say the church and grounds is scenic would be a massive understatement. Pretty as a picture the whole place evokes images of what I think an English place of worship would be like. You could not have picked a better spot guys.
From there it was on to meet Margaret at a pub for a beautiful lunch. Another beautiful pub but apparently part of a chain. The lunch was amazing and it was great sitting in a pub on such a cold and rainy day.
We finished the day by taking Jo to the airport. We all chatted on the way there hoping to delay the inevitable of Jo's departure. 4 weeks on the road and it is the first real pains of homesickness by saying goodbye to J. We always knew we would see her after a while and she would be our touch of home but now she is gone and it almost hurts. Have a safe trip Jo and we'll see you next year. Xxo
Our trip home the 3 of us reminisced of the good times with Jo & Geoff. We had a few laughs and came back home with smiles on our faces. So glad we have a week here with Margaret before disappearing on the road again. So nice to be with someone close.
