Lets take this gig global!!
Heya folks,
Just a quick one to let you know that I pulled through in the end and made it to Chiang Mai in one piece (just about!). I was feeling soooooo bad before we got the bus, like really sick (probs all my own doing I know!) but the 12 hr journey wasnt too bad. We were the last ones on and Steve had gone to the back row (normally the worst place to sit as its the bumpiest and least leg room) but he came up trumps as luckily no-one else got on so we had the best seats in the house!!!
The whole back row to ourselves so could fully lie down and with a blanket and pillow I slept the whole time- from 8pm until 6am this morning!! With the descent air-con its one of the best nights sleep I've had in a while!! We sorted our accomodation out after having to trek around for a while but found a nice place in the Old city. We slept this morning then been out and about taking in this place this arvo. Its a real nice city (and highly regarded by the Thais) but theres not a whole lot to do (unless you like your Wats!) so we decided not to hang around and booked our jungle trek for tomorrow.
We're heading off early doors for some trekking, rafting, bamboo sailing, elephant riding for three days in a big national Park/jungle just north of Pai. There are 10 people in our group so hopefully we shall all get on fine and have a quality time!! I'm pumped for it.
Well, just thought I'd let you know so that you dont need to worry if you dont hear from me for a while!! I'll think of you all back home when I'm Rambo-ing it up! haha.
Laters, Dan
