Lets take this gig global!!
Hey all- hows it going? I hear its pretty cold back in UK! Thats a shame as its bloody boiling here!! We are in Jaisalmer in the Thar desert and as you can imagine its pretty scorchio! Its been crazy to see how the landscape has changed as we have travelled west across the country. From lush, green fileds in Delhi to more and more arid and dry land the further west you go. Now its just dust and sand! Well, I truly feel like a traveller now- unshaven, dusty, dirty bags and the feeling of wearing the same clothes (and underpants!) for the past 4 days!! But still having an awesome time! India has really bowled me over and has been so much moprew than I ever expected. the further west we go the more I like it! After Pushkar we had two fantastic days in Jodphur (the blue city). This was defo my favourtie place so far with an awseome vibe and chilled out and the views are immense! The fort is unbelievable (from the city below) to the inside on top looking down! Its also got a new audio tour which is really fascinating and describes the little details that you would probs normmally miss! The blue city is just like the photos describe it to be and you really have to see it to believe it. The place where we stayed was also really good and defo a home from home as its a family- run place and they were so good to us. Its called Saji Sanwri and is in thew old city area (defo the place to stay if you're in Jodphur) Did a bit more shopping too just to make my bag that much heavier! On thwe hole a really nice city (from what we saw anyway and fairly modern aswell. we saw more schools and university adds there than we have seen in our whole time in India so far! Plus the rickshaws are turbo charged and fly around like go karts - quality fun!! Sadly tho we had to move on and am now in Jaisalmer- another spell binding place (the golden city). It looks like something from a film and like the buildings and fort are carved out of the hills! we are staying in a really cool place called Desert Haveli hotel and are going on a camel safari for three days out in the Thar desert tomo which should be interesting!! I shall hopefully udate on sunday to let you all know how it went. Well enjoy the cold and I'll think of you whilst bouncing up and dpwn the sand dunes in about 30 degre heat tomo!! All the best Dan
