Ok so quick update mainly so we could get Krabi on the map :)
We took our early morning taxi to the airport in Hanoi and had a really straight forward easy two hour flight to Bangkok, we had looked into how we would then get down to Krabi and had decided that we would make our way to the bus station and wait aaaaall day long for the night bus, they only have night buses, however, when we asked how much a taxi was to the bus station we were quoted £25! and we had already worked out that the two bus tickets were going to cost quite a bit to, so with this in mind we headed over to the departure lounge to 'enquire' about a flight to Krabi, never expecting to actually get one but the whole process would waste some time before the 7pm night bus anyway!
Well it turnts out you can get a flight to Krabi for not a whole lot more than we would be paying for the taxi and bus, having to wait 5 hours in the airport and jump on a flight that would get us to krabi in under an hour was way more appealing than heading to the stinky bus station and not geting to Krabi until 6am the next day!
Playing at being proper flashpackers now! this isnt a luxary we will be having again and it will be back on the night bus soon enough but for this one time it was really nice!
So we obviously hadnt looked into Krabi enough before thinkng we could stay here for very long because there is pretty much nothing to do here, not even a beach, its mainly just used as base to see other islands in the area, that being said we are leaving after one hot sticky night in a very loud hotel!
Off to Phuket now, 4 hour mini bus ride and to a beach called Karon, Hannah has been, its supposed to be a little quieter than main Phuket, after there we will head to Koh Phi Phi, a little dubious about the island though as we have heard and read that its pretty much an 18-30s party island with lots of gap year kids and beach parties going on into the wee hours, not reeeeally our cup of tea, but the island is suposed to be beautiful so we will go if only for one night, and then its to Koh Lanta which we have heard nothing but amazing things about and is known for its more peacful and relaxed atmosphere....fingers crossed!
Oh and I have to make a little mention about the heat! boy oh boy it is so super hot, lke sweat dripping own your bum hot!!!!!
