We left Vegas early for our drive to the Grand Canyon. We stopped at a little diner near the Grand Canyon Skywalk for a cooked breakfast. We started off early from LA to try and beat the traffic. In actual fact there is never a time when the traffic in LA is light, it's just varying degrees of heavy. Our first stop was at the Mormon Rocks fire station, at the start of a scenic byway through the San Bernadino National Forest. Today we spent the morning preparing for our road trip which we start tomorrow. We had a go setting up the tent we borrowed from a friend of Mary's. It is very large and impressive.
