We left Merced in the morning expecting to arrive around 10am, however we discovered we had left a laundry bag behind so had to backtrack. A little annoying, but we still arrived at Yosemite at about 11.30am. We grabbed a little lunch whilst reading about some hikes and deciding which to tackle. We decided to hike to Vernan and Nevada Falls a reasonably strenuous hike including 600 steps. It was a very enjoyable hike but the steps did test our legs out a bit! The views were definitely worth the pain and the spray from the falls helped with the heat.
From there we headed to our camp sight, nearly an hour away from Yosemite valley. It is a really lovely sight near a river and was very quiet. We met our neighbours who were lovely to chat to and seemed very impressed by the story of our travels. We made pasta for dinner and turned in to the sound of the river rushing nearby.
