Our original plans for the day were waylaid by the weather so we headed for the relative comfort of our rental car. We headed North to Whistler the 2010 Winter Olympics village. The drive up there was really nice, the low cloud reduced the visibility but added an eerie beauty to the scenery.
Whistler village has been turned into a funky strip of shops and restaurants so we had a wander around but restrained ourselves and left the purchasing to the other tourists. We also walked out to Lost Lake which wasn't far away. After a short rest we headed back to the village for a late lunch. The trip back to Vancouver seemed very different as the clouds had lifted and revealed more of the snow-capped mountains. We also stopped at Shannon Falls, a spectacular waterfall not far from north Vancouver.
We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing in our hotel room hoping that the weather improves tomorrow.
