So, a lot has happened since our days of trolley pushing and boat capsizing. We've both grown a little and have blossomed into mature individuals, seasoned some may say.
Sad to leave the beautiful Croatia, we ventured onwards towards Bosnia with a promise of cheap beer, nightclubs who are the proud owners of one single flashing light and "premium, top class cars" so banged up that they would have any Irish NCT worker die a little on the inside.
First stop, Mostar. We arrived there on one of the most terrifying bus journeys I have ever had to endure, the roads riddled in sharp hairpin turns on some of the highest mountains I've ever seen. (As we all know, Dan isn't the best with hights, off to a bad start much...?). The bus drivers kept stopping in mystery locations picking up packages and dropping them off in various places around Croatia and Bosnia...dodgey much?!?
When we finally arrived in the city we had no problem finding accomodation...like two seconds and it was sorted! Walking around, the first thing we notice is how messed up the place actually is. Completely shot to pieces while at the same time being an absolutely amazingingly beautiful place. A bit of a reality check tbh. I suppose what gets me is the fact that all of this stuff was going on when I was old enough to watch the news and understand that there was people my own age being killed alongside their families in their own homes, simply for thinking something different to what was acceptable to others. What probably made things hard for us was that we arrived on their national day of remembrance, so the whole place was in mourning. No music was allowed to be played and the scenes from 1993 was being shown on mute all day and night on all the tv's.
The following few days however things began to lighten up a bit...thank f*** cuz it was my birthday on Friday the 13th and...I like to drink and listen to music! We ended up having a mad laugh. Met a cool guy and girl from Australia and went swimming at these class Waterfalls with them and then sessioned on in these really cool places, one of them was a nightclub built into a cave called Ali Baba's Cave.
Ok...loads more has happened since then but I don't want this blog entry to get too long winded so I'll resume at a later stage.
P.S...The gravity did exist in the picture...this blog has no turn around function!! hehe
